WHAT WE DO
Rescuing collies in the Pacific Northwest
Cascade Collie Rescue was established in 2006 to care for and rehome collies in need. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and completely volunteer ran. We are dedicated to the care and safety of abandoned or surrendered rough and smooth collies in Oregon, as well as sharing the joy associated with the breed.
Cascade Collie Rescue is an approved affiliate of the Collie Club of America’s Collie Rescue Foundation Inc.
President
Jaclyn Rudebeck
Jaclyn Rudebeck, JD, is a member of the Oregon State Bar, and previously served on the Executive Committee of the Animal Law Section. As an attorney, she has advised a variety of nonprofits on various issues.
Jaclyn has been involved in nonprofit animal shelter and rescue work since 2001 as a volunteer, foster, donor, board member, and employee. She served on the board of Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene, Oregon, from 2009-2012, and then joined the staff as Director of Operations from 2012-2018. During her time with Greenhill, she completed certificate programs in no-kill shelter management (although the name of that program has since been changed, since the term no-kill has become quite loaded), and shelter animal behavior.
Jaclyn adopted her first two Collies from CCR in 2008 and has been in love with the breed ever since. Jaclyn is an active member of the Collie Club of America, the Collie Rescue Foundation and Collie Health Foundation, and the Pacific Northwest Collie Club. She enjoys agility, herding, and scent work with her current Collies.

Treasurer
Misha Gieseler
Meet Misha, the Cascade Collie Rescue Treasurer!

When Misha’s daughter needed a service dog, they settled on a collie as the breed that would best fit their needs and home. Ever since Misha has been smitten with the breed. She is now involved in showing collies as well as participating in other dog sports.

Currently, Misha shares her home with four rough collies as well as two cats. While she has had dogs her entire life, Misha can’t imagine her future without at least a couple collies in the mix!

In addition to living her best life with her rough collie crew, Misha is an accomplished glass memorial artist and is a NTICU nurse.
Secretary
Melissa Nelson
Melissa is the secretary for Cascade Collie Rescue. A lifelong dog lover, she shares her home with her beloved collie, Chena. Together, they compete in scent work dog sports and embark on hiking adventures, where Melissa encourages Chena to avoid rolling in any tempting, stinky discoveries along the trail. When she’s not immersed in dog-related activities, Melissa is a fiction writer and works in the health insurance industry.
